The 51st State: Israel.

Cape Town, South Africa — A new and particularly brutal wave of offensive action was launched by Israel in the wake of October 7th 2023. From its onset, unlike previous campaigns of air bombings, minor troop deployments, and quick withdrawals, the scale of this operation represented a much more aggressive action. A permanent occupation force stormed into the strip under the cover of heavy air bombings and missile attacks, which leveled Gaza City. Artillery pounded the displaced as the IDF continued to push the Gaza population South.
The death toll for Palestinians in this conflict due to Israeli bombings and shootings has been estimated between 64,260 and 83,740 or higher. Between 1.6 million and 1.9 million Palestinians have been displaced since October 7th 2023. Many of those displaced live in UNRWA shelters or in their own tents in areas designated by the IDF. Despite the fact that these displaced are civilians, Israel continues to propagate the lie that Hamas is operating from within UN sanctuaries. The IDF continues to harass and murder Palestinians in tent cities. In the fog of war, Hundreds of journalists have been murdered, many of whom were reporting on the humanitarian crisis Israel has created. The number of dead from malnutrition and famine is unclear, but UN estimates place the number of children treated for malnutrition at over 20,000. The same UN report states that More than 762,500 displacements have been recorded since the end of the ceasefire on March 18th.
With the repeated attacks against civilian infrastructure, housing, and the people of Gaza themselves, and the declaration by Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who said: “There are no innocent civilians in Gaza”, the picture becomes clear. This is not a war. It is a genocide. The Economic Freedom Fighters of South Africa have declared this to be the case loudly at home since the onset of this significant campaign. In the International Court of Justice, it was South Africa that first levelled the accusation of Genocide against Israel.
Israel, however, has not acted alone. The American Empire has given Israel $174 Billion in direct foreign investment, bilateral assistance, and missile defense funding. George Galloway: “There is no difference between apartheid Israel and the United States of America. In fact, Israel is the 51st state of the USA. Mossad is the CIA, and the CIA is Mossad.”
Economic Freedom Fighters and South African Parliament MP Carl Niehaus, speaking in a Twitter space, delivered a strong set of connective evidence, condemnation, and rebuke of the relationship between the American Empire and Israel. His opening condemnation followed the 6th time the United States used its veto power to allow Israel to continue its conflict unabated.
Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump shared a strong friendship. Epstein’s crimes in sex trafficking are well-documented. MP Niehaus cast this friendship in a new light, highlighting that: “Tapes and documents suggest a much closer relationship. Evidence suggests Trump and Epstein shared a most compromising relationship, sharing intimate details and dark secrets.” Niehaus continued: “What are the links between Ghislaine Maxwell and Mossad? …She denies close ties, but evidence continues to come out of the cupboard…Robert Maxwell is Israel’s super-spy.”
Ghislaine Maxwell herself has been interrogated about her Mossad ties. Although she dismisses the evidence, it cannot be denied that her Father, Robert Maxwell, has certainly come under scrutiny, with many allegations that he was a triple spy, for the UK, Russia, and the Mossad. Carl Niehaus’ question represents a shared concern from the citizens of the Empire, when he asks: ”What evidence, what gun is [Maxwell] holding against Trump’s head, to allow this genocide in Gaza to be done?”
The United States does not tolerate states that stand against US interests, often overthrowing their governments, or those of their neighbors in the case of China, India, and the Nepalese Color Revolution sponsored by Coca-Cola. Yet, when it comes to Israel, who actively bombs American bases and kills US Service personnel, the US stays silent. The United States directly contributed to the overthrow of the governments of Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, Syria, and Bahrain, to serve its own interests and promote Pro-NATO, Pro-Israeli governments amenable to Western interests, synonymous with the interests of its alleged 51st State.
Even in American domestic events, the Empire protects its client by using controversy to distract eyes from Gaza. Activist, Author, and Political Scientist Kim Heller says: ”In the distraction of North American politics, people are focused on the death of a white supremacist, a largely irrelevant person… While the Global Sumud Flotilla, bound for Gaza, reminded us to keep our eyes on Palestine, on Israel, while the world averted its eyes.”
Israel has proven time and again that she stands for her own interests over American interests. Despite this, unlike others who have done the same, the American Empire does not name her a “Rogue” state. Instead, support continues to pour in, from American taxpayers, from American representatives at the UN, and from American politicians at home.
Gazans bleed and die at the hands of Israelis who brandish American taxpayer-funded equipment and fire American bullets, while American international policy protects its client state from backlash. Therefore, to fight the apartheid state of Israel, the American Empire must also be fought.
